The Project Manager for the Falkland Islands Government will be responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting and supervising major infrastructure projects. Ranging from development to completion by overseeing projects, specialised contractors and other personnel to ensure projects are operated within Government policies, strategies and objective and performance standards are achieved.
The Role
The role will involve leading all construction aspects of infrastructure projects to provide strategic and professional guidance to the Director of Public Works, Project and Programme Boards. When appointed to a Programme / Project board, the Project Manager will report to the board and take direction from the board relating to the specific project. Responsibilities will also include ensuring that assigned projects meet the project and contract milestones for the construction and commissioning of infrastructure projects, on time and within budget.
The Person
The post holder will be responsible for managing a variety of projects in the Islands as well as reviewing and managing project objectives, policies, procedures and performance outcomes within the Falkland Islands Government framework and contract specifications
The applicant should hold a recognised civil engineering degree, or equivalent, with extensive (10+ years) senior role experience in delivering large complex infrastructure.
In addition, canididates should be highly computer literate (CAD, MS Project, MS Excel, and other engineering software and have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to win the confidence and carry credibility.
The Package
- Fixed Term Contract, up to 4 years.
- Starting Salary £55,759 up to £61,691 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) rising to £80,693.
- Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity (taxable).
- 41 days paid leave, 30 days paid annual leave plus 11 government and public holidays.
