The Planning Inspectorate

The Planning Inspectorate has a long and proud history in ensuring a fair planning system for England and Wales. We are an important part of UK Government responsible for making recommendations to Ministers on nationally significant infrastructure projects in a wide range of areas including nuclear (and other) power stations, large offshore wind farms, electricity lines, roads, railways and airports.

It’s a really exciting time to be thinking about joining us. We have invested in a multi-million-pound improvement programme to create a more modern Inspectorate. We want our colleagues to be able to work more flexibly and more collaboratively, exploring new and innovative ways to improve the way we provide services. We are continuing to invest in technology and, as well as developing our model to be more customer centric, we have been modernising our processes to introduce increased automation and efficiency.
